ACT Tutoring in NYC and Online

The ACT is one of the two primary college admissions tests in the United States, alongside the SAT. With recent updates to the enhanced ACT, the exam is now shorter, more flexible, and more student-friendly than ever before.

The ACT currently takes approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes (without breaks), making it significantly shorter than previous versions. Students can now benefit from a streamlined testing experience that emphasizes core academic skills without unnecessary time pressure.

What’s on the ACT?

The enhanced ACT includes three required sections - English, Math, and Reading - while the Science section is now optional, allowing students to choose whether to include it based on their strengths and college goals.

This flexibility makes the ACT ideal for students who prefer a balanced test (instead of heavy math weighting), and who want the option to skip Science and thrive with clear, straightforward question formats.

Compared to the SAT, the ACT remains more curriculum-based, rewarding students who have strong foundations in grammar, algebra, and reading comprehension.

Personalized ACT Prep That Delivers Results

At Ivy Tutors Network, we take a data-driven, customized approach to ACT preparation. Every student begins with a full-length diagnostic test, allowing us to pinpoint strengths, weaknesses, and target score goals. From there, we build a tailored study plan designed to maximize results efficiently.

Our students consistently achieve top composite scores (34–36) and average score increases of 4–6 points in as little as 3–6 months.

We combine expert instruction with proven strategies to help students improve accuracy, pacing, and confidence on test day.
