As a first generation college student, Jaclyn graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and a specialization in Disability Studies after receiving the Police and Fire Full-Tuition Scholarship. After graduation, Jaclyn joined the Teach For America Corps to continue her passion for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is currently a special education teacher at South Bronx Preparatory, a 6th-12th grade school achieving a 92% graduation rate in 2018 compared to the average 58% in District 7 of the Bronx. She is simultaneously pursuing a master’s degree at Relay Graduate School of Education (formerly part of Hunter College) with a dual certification in Special Education for Adolescents Grades 7-12 and Generalist Grades 5-9. Since she began tutoring last summer she has been in high-demand with elementary through high school aged students in a multitude of subjects. She focuses on developing strong relationships with her students, built on mutual respect and support.

When she’s not teaching or tutoring, Jaclyn enjoys taking boxing and hot yoga classes!
