Eri (nickname for Erica), a very friendly certified special educator, is experienced as both a lead classroom teacher and as a one-on-one tutor for over 5 years. Before earning her B.A. in Psychology from Brown where she worked as a teaching assistant, then her M.A. in Special Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, Eri attended high school at Friends Seminary in Manhattan. Always a bit of a geek, she scored 800 on both the SAT Math section and the Math SAT II. Over the years, Eri has honed a patient, compassionate and playful approach to help students learn fundamental math skills. Her expertise in special education enables her to customize instruction based on each student's unique profile of strengths, needs and interests. Eri enjoys helping students of all ages and abilities find the stress-free fun of learning. She is equally adept working as a “student whisperer” for shy, quirky and anxious kids as she is with the animals of the families she works with.

Eri is fluent in reading and writing backwards, which might come in handy someday.
