A Philadelphia native, Charlie is in his second year in the MD/PhD program at Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering. He graduated Yale University summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA in 2016 with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. At Yale, he served as president of the club running team and performed research on RNA triple helices. He was one of only ten members in his class inducted into Phi Beta Kappa as juniors. Upon graduation, he received the Russell Henry Chittenden Prize, awarded to the Yale senior majoring in the natural sciences or mathematics who ranks highest in scholarship. Charlie relocated to New York to pursue MD/PhD training and currently conducts molecular biology research on genome restabilization in early tumorigenesis. Outside the hospital and lab, Charlie remains an avid distance runner and competes as a member of New York's Dashing Whippets Running Team. Charlie enjoys sharing his passion for learning and discovery and looks forward to helping other students succeed and thrive.
As a Yale sophomore, Charlie discovered a new species of fungus in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
