Calla is a born and raised Brooklyn native, who graduated from Saint Ann's School, where she was a National Merit Scholar. She loved the freedom that St. Ann's provided in her education, allowing her to take a wide variety of courses in all fields, with a particular fondness for math and science. She then attended Wellesley College where she continued taking courses from a vast liberal arts curriculum. She was able to rekindle her love of theatre, majoring in Theatre Studies, and discover a new outlet for her continued interest in all things STEM by minoring in Computer Science. While at Wellesley, Calla was a member of the Varsity Fencing team, competing in the NCAA's as an epéeist. She was an avid participant in all things theatre, directing for the student theatre group and designing costumes for a department production, winning her a nomination for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Having just graduated in the spring of 2020, she knows the challenge of virtual schooling, having been through it herself. Growing up she had the privilege of learning to love education for the sake of learning and brings this to everything she does.
