Melanie Jalloh

Melanie grew up in New York City, where she attended Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn. She earned her bachelors degree in chemistry from Swarthmore College, where she was inducted into Sigma Xi: The Scientific Research Honor Society. True to her liberal arts college background, Melanie also focused heavily on humanities and writing-intensive courses. She holds a masters degree in chemistry from Temple University and received a fellowship for her masters in educational technology & media from Columbia University, Teachers College. Melanie started tutoring in high school (Latin, interestingly enough), and peer tutoring/teaching have been integrated into her educational experience ever since. She is passionate about breaking down complex topics until they are easily understood and relating (seemingly obscure) science topics to the world around us.
