Charlie is a native of Los Angeles, but a long time resident of New York City. After graduating from Howard University with a degree in Finance, Charlie moved to New York for a job on Wall Street as an investment banker in public finance. He returned to California long enough to earn his MA in Economics from The Claremont Graduate University, then returned to Wall Street, working on several fixed-income trading desks over his career. Mentoring high-school students through such organizations as the National Association of Securities Professionals reignited his desire to teach. He recently completed the Project MATCH internship with the Los Angeles Community College District where he served as adjunct professor of economics. In his spare time and weather permitting, Charlie loves to hop on his mountain bike for rides around NYC.
