Charles Borland

Charles has a somewhat unusual but uniquely qualified background for a tutor. Armed with a BFA degree in Drama from The Juilliard School, Charles didn’t have much of a math background and had never taken the SAT or ACT before he decided to pursue a business degree and was forced to confront his test-taking nerves by studying for the GMAT. After endless hours on the math portion of Khan Academy, Charles scored in the 96th Percentile and is now an MBA candidate at NYU Stern. Charles has also taken courses in History, Politics, and Mathematics for college credit from Harvard and UC Berkeley to help round out his undergrad coursework, maintaining a 3.9 GPA in the process. Charles grew up in Minnesota but traveled extensively overseas, living in England, Brazil, China, and Japan. He is married and lives in Brooklyn. In June, Charles finally sat for the SAT (twenty-five years later) and scored a 2310.
